Henry Goodrich Accepts Leadership Challenges; Delivers Strong Results for Customers

The Henry Goodrich (HGR) crew working offshore Canada has delivered strong safety and operational performance in 2013, including two years without a serious injury case (SIC) on August 29 and one year without a recordable incident on September 2. In addition, the semisubmersible harsh environment rig crew has also delivered the last three wells significantly ahead of the AFE drilling curve. The most recent well, originally scheduled as a 63-day well with customer Husky, is currently 15 days ahead of the P-50 curve.

“We have to remember that without the customers and third-party contributions we would not have made this goal. We have had a very good 2013 campaign with the rig and we will continue this success for all members of the team,” said Lane Romine, Rig Manager, HGR, in a note to the crew. “There were a lot of changes in the past year and everyone stepped up and accepted the challenge to become a leader in safety and performance. Let’s continue to follow this trend and see how far we can go as a team… “Go There!”

The HGR crew’s performance was also touted by customers and third-party service providers in the following notes.

“Within these efforts, we should recognize the leadership provided by the Rig Manager, his overhauled leadership team at the rig, and the operator supervisors (offshore and onshore) who have also contributed greatly.  We at Husky and Suncor were right to focus on bringing in people of this caliber – they have carried the day. Finally, thank you to all of you who have supported this improvement effort.  We must not rest in our quest to sustain it and further it – and we won’t.”

Martyn Fear,
Vice President of Drilling and Completions
Husky Energy

“Congratulations from everyone at Suncor! This is a testament to the efforts of everyone involved. It is through our collective efforts, challenging each other and seeking to continuously improve, that these results are delivered. Keep up the great efforts.”

Sincerely,

Brian Stacey on behalf of everyone at Suncor Energy
