About 50 Transocean employees and their families in partnership with Casa do Caminho recently spent a day planting seedlings of native and fruit trees to create an ecological park in Macaé.
“Such action was planned not only for the environment preservation, but also with the intent of increasing the awareness of the children involved in the program who will, in a near future, influence in the actions needed in favor of a healthy and sustainable environment. The smile on the face of each of them, the look full of hope for a better future, and at the same time, knowing that it only depends on them supported by companies such as Transocean, were the aspects that marked the most in this event. I am very happy to work in a company as Transocean, that is seriously engaged in promoting social responsibility actions around the world like this one, and that has enabled me to take part in such unique experience in my professional life”, said Márcio Martins, QHSE Manager.
In addition to re-planting the area for a formation of woodland where seeds will be collected to serve as matrices for the planting of new trees, the initiative has as purpose to stimulate environmental friendly practices, as well as the consciousness for preservation and sustainability. “This woodland will provide seeds that will be catalogued in a seed base and that, in the future, will serve for new plantings. Our proposal is to assist so that the institution has a green and productive space, stimulating the consciousness for the preservation between those assisted by Casa do Caminho and our employees,” explained Daniele Azevedo, Environment Coordinator.
