Lead Technical Specialist, IT, Corporate-Houston
Thirteen years ago, Corby started with Transocean as a Developer and has undeniably provided more than just his optimistic attitude and friendly demeanor.
Corby led the reconfiguration of the company’s maintenance management system, RMS II, which is still the maintenance solution for Transocean today. His full commitment to the company has been demonstrated by moving his family to the Houston area after the Global Marine and Santa Fe merger of 2001 and his continued leadership on the RMS II rollout to the new fleet. Corby is currently Lead Technical Specialist, IT, where he repeatedly meets project deadlines and maintains company budgets.
“Corby has always set the example for others when it comes to providing high quality and timely support to his customers,” said Senior Vice President, Support Services and CIO John Truschinger. “Corby has a ‘can do’ attitude and is well respected throughout the IT organization and our company. He is always available and when you consider that the majority of his assignments deal with the rig users, he makes himself available 24/7/365. And, while not a requirement, I have to point out that Corby is one of the nicest people I have ever met and I am routinely receiving praise about his attitude and partnerships he has created over the years.”
Corby gives thanks to the managers and leaders who have guided him in his career. He believes Transocean always puts their employees in a position to succeed and do well. “We have good people at Transocean—good, down-to-earth people starting with management down to our teams,” he said. “This is the best team I’ve worked with. Nothing could get accomplished without their help. Throughout the entire company, I couldn’t ask for better people to work with. There is no other company like it.”
