RIG PEOPLE
Division Supervisor, Human Resources- Jakarta Office
After being with Transocean for 20 years, Hary has a vast knowledge of the offshore industry and its needs. He is an expert when it comes to offshore crewing of the rigs, developing, and training personnel. Hary takes his job very seriously and puts much thought into it. He knows the company and its people inside out.
“Hary’s strength is in knowing his job and his people,” said Thailand Branch Manager Chidpon Jantarawaranyoo. “It is really not an easy task to know your people when you are working in HR with a company the size of Transocean. His understanding of the job functions and individuals has greatly benefited the Thailand Sector during the crew-up of the GSF Key Gibraltar. Our company vision is to focus on people, Hary has practiced this since long ago.”
Hary is instrumental to offshore workforce planning and delivers extraordinary support to a number of installations. His technical knowledge and keen awareness of the necessary criteria for every single position on each rig have provided a much more smooth recruitment process and nationalization plan.
Hary considers the FIRST Core Values to be tremendously essential in the Human Resources Department. When given a challenge, Hary listens to the personnel on the rigs, respects how they are feeling, and strives to find a way to resolve the issue. “I try to solve the problem honestly and with integrity,” he said. “If I do not know the answer, I will find someone who does. Honesty and integrity play very important roles in Human Resources.”
Being given the opportunity to expand his knowledge and experience is Hary’s favorite thing about working for Transocean. “I enjoy my job. The people development never stops. Even today, I am 51 years old and I can still do training and learn. Transocean provides the opportunity to learn more and more.”
