Deck Pusher, Sedco 706
Brazil
“Heston is a natural leader who has the ability to motivate, inspire, and get the absolute best from the people who work for him,” said Sedco 706 OIM Gary Slaney. “He is a producer who continually delivers the desired result and is always striving to improve in every aspect of his job. The 706 enjoyed great success in many areas last year and its overall performance compared to 2009 showed tremendous improvements. Heston played an instrumental role in achieving those results through coaching deck crews that have now progressed through the ranks into other departments taking with them what Heston taught.”
Heston gives thanks for the knowledge he has gained at Transocean and uses it inside and out of work. The support given by his supervisors aboard the Sedco 706 has led him to many achievements and has given him a second family away from home.
To Heston, receiving the FIRST Excellence Award is motivation to keep up his efforts and encourages him to help others to achieve all of their goals. “The people are what make a rig good,” he said. “If each crewmember does an exemplary job, day in and day out, it makes it possible to overcome any challenge as a team.”
