Sector Supply Chain Manager - Vietnam Office
Receiving the FIRST Excellence Award confirmed Huong’s belief that if you try your best, work hard, and take on challenges; you will be recognized sooner than later. Huong has been giving the company her all for the past 10 years. She started as a Materials Coordinator and has worked various Supply Chain Department positions. Huong is currently Supply Chain Manager for the Vietnam Sector.
Huong may be soft spoken, but she is a natural born leader and repeatedly goes the extra mile to show her dedication to the company. Huong’s biggest personal accomplishment at Transocean was her ability to overcome self doubts. Although a very hard worker, Huong never expected to see herself in a management position. She currently leads one of Transocean’s strongest teams.
“Ms. Huong Le is particularly disciplined and encourages her team members to continually look for opportunities to negotiate and generate savings for the company. The savings in supply costs crossed $220,000 in 2010 for both Vietnam and Thailand sectors,” said Vietnam Sector Manager Tran Xuan Ngoc. “One of the biggest challenges that Ms. Huong Le and her team were facing in 2010 was the implementation of ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning). She has done exceptionally well with ERP training by leading from the front and closely monitoring, communicating and providing prompt and excellent support to others.”
Very focused and always committed to the job, Huong gives it her all. It is not uncommon to see her signing up for a workshop or training course. “Ms. Huong Le has been actively putting in extra hours for additional training courses, seeking to improve her work knowledge. Her expertise in Supply Chain management is considered as top in class,” Tran said.
