​Houston: Cleaning for a Brighter Beach

About 500 Transocean employees and their families participated in the 25th Annual Adopt-a-Beach Fall Cleanup on September 24, representing one the largest corporate groups among the 10,000 beach cleaners at the Galveston event.

<>1 - 5“This was the second year for Transocean to participate and we had four times more volunteers than in our first beach cleanup. This truly shows our employees’ passion and commitment to making a difference in the communities where we live and work,” said Heather Null, Environmental Manager.

The Texas General Land Office Adopt-A-Beach program began in the fall of 1986, when 2,800 volunteers picked up 124 tons of trash. Since then, it has grown into one of the most successful all-volunteer efforts in the nation. In 25 years, 413,000 Adopt-A-Beach volunteers have picked up more than 8,000 tons of trash from the Texas Gulf Coast.
